4. Glitter Hands

Some kids only have their hands rinsed quickly under water, if at all they wash. However hands are supposed to be scrapped with antibacterial soap for not less than 15 seconds.

Sprinkle glitter on the kid’s hands and challenge him/her off to wash the glitter with water & soap. Since glitter is a naturally sticky substance, it’ll take up to half a minute to scrub it away.

Then tell him/her that she/he should scrub off germs like he has done to the glitter each time he washes. Tell him that washing hands may significantly reduce the spread of germs.

 

5. Bubbles Bubbles

You need tub, soap, dish, white construction paper, food coloring and straws. Create lots of bubbles as you wash your hands. Reinforce the importance of bubbles on hands while washing them.

Trace kids’ hands on the white piece of construction paper and cut out. Put a small amount of water & dish soap. Make kids blow through straws to create bubbles. Make sure the kids are able to blow through the stroke & not suck up.

As soon as the bubbles are formed, drop food color on the bubbles. Have the children place the hand- cutouts on bubbles to get a very interesting design when bubbles pop. Gently put the hands on the bubble or your cut-out paper will go into water and get wet.

6. Good Habit, Bad Habit

Play this sorting game with kids to help you drive home the significance of hygiene habits. List down ten good hygiene habits, like washing for twenty seconds, flossing each night and covering mouth when eating. Also list the bad habits. Fold all the pieces of papers and put them in a hat. The kids can then remove one at a time and decide whether it is a bad hygiene habit or a good one.
